This tiger is not amused by your comment.

As a response to Billa, male lions actually hunt too. They often live and hunt in small groups of 2-3 brothers until they find a pack of their own. They also continue to hunt when they're in the pack, but usually only when something relevant comes up. For example, if the pack comes across a large animal like a hippo the male lion will most certainly help to take it down, or if the pack is attacked male lions will usually be the first to protect it if it's a significant threat. I think one of the main reasons he doesn't join when hunting small prey is that they're too slow due to their larger body frame. Have you guys ever wondered why is it that usually when one is compared to a predator like a lion, or a tiger, that it is a compliment, but being compared to sheeps, goats, and similar herbivore animals, is an insult? Does it show an innate preference/admiration for carnivores, in humans? And if so, why do you think that might be? |

Herbivores lack brain power and imagination. They're also not as interesting. They just stand around grazing all day. Predators sleep a lot but at least feeding and fighting is fun to watch. |

Isn't that cruel though? Admiring militant, bloodthirsty predators, and despising peaceful, meek, and stupid herbivores? Not that it says anything about us, of course not. We're still pacifist liberals who think war is bad and murder is bad and so on and so forth. Although, that lion suffocating that gazelle and ripping open its intestines and feeding on its blood and meat is kinda cool. |

![]() Anyway, to answer your question on why carnivores are preferred, its generally due to greater intellect. Herbivores have a horrible tendency to be the most moronic of creatures. If herbivores actually fought back as a unit rather than run in terror, most predators would be incapable of hunting. Only problem is that most herbivores don't, they just run and expose their back letting themselves get cut down. |

Of course we will look down on creatures who only exist so that others can eat them. |

It's not that. It's the fact that a herd of any kind of large hooved animal would stomp a mudhole in any predator, but they don't because they're too yellow. |

In a similar fashion of tigers being amazing, crocodiles are pretty much the same, in my opinion.![]() Unlike those overrated sharks, crocs are terrifying. And awesome. |
